THE PERFECT FINISH FOR YOUR PRINTING PROJECT

Binding really sets the tone for your printed piece, so it is essential to select the right method. From a simple Saddle-stitched brochure to a perfect bound book or magazine to a wire bind or screw bound catalogue, the choices are varied. At E-Plot, we can help you finish your project with the most appropriate binding, helping you to achieve the right usability, look, feel, longevity and impact.

WHICH BINDING METHOD IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

At E-Plot, we make finding the right binding for your project easy. Some of the questions we like to ask our clients include:

  • Who will be receiving it/who are you appealing to?
  • How often will it be used/how long does it need to last?
  • What impression or statement do you want to make?
  • Where will it be displayed?
SADDLE-STITCH BINDING

WHY CHOOSE SADDLE-STITCH?

Saddle-Stitch binding involves stitching the pages through the spine using staples. These metal staples are found in the middle of the published spread. Economical and professionally finished, saddle-stitch binding is a popular method and is recommended for documents less than 64 pages in length.

CASE BINDING

WHY CHOOSE case binding?

If your project requires a prestigious or unique look and feel, long term durability & preservation or just that extra ‘wow’ factor then Hard Cover/Case Binding would be the finishing method to consider.

If just a small QTY is required, your Hard Cover/case bound book would be assembled expertly by hand via our specialist case binder. Larger QTY’s (above 100) would be assembled by machine. Pages are folded in sections then gathered and sewn. A case is then made by folding and gluing either a laminated printed sheet, linen fabric, decorative paper or leather to a thick board creating a hard cover.. Case bound books normally have a covered spine however you can also select to have an exposed section sewn spine.

This binding method provides many possibilities when it comes to the creative presentation of your book.  We’ve included some of them here.

PERFECT BINDING

WHY CHOOSE PERFECT BINDING?

Perfect binding involves gluing the sheets to the cover of your publication. A classic example of perfect binding is the telephone book. Perfect binding requires larger margins and this will need to be considered in your design if you choose this method.

WIRO BINDING

WHY CHOOSE WIRO BINDING?

Sometimes simply known as wire binding, this method binds together loose pages using a single or double loop that is threaded through holes in the pages. To picture Wiro binding, just think of the classic notebook design. Wiro binding can utilise plastic or metal coils, and wider margins will need to be taken into consideration.

PLASTIC COIL BINDING

WHY CHOOSE PLASTIC COIL BINDING?

Perfect for brochures and books of all sizes, plastic coil binding can feature a premium four-page uncut section in your document. This is achieved using sheets that are printed on one side and then folded.

SCORING AND FOLDING

WHY CHOOSE SCORING & FOLDING?

Whether it’s marketing collateral, invitations, or brochures, scoring and folding services can put the finishing touches on your printing project. Rather than binding your document, our team can precisely and artfully score and fold it for you, producing outstanding results.
